Our bags are made in India under fair trade practices, are ISO 9001 certified and use azo free dyes and inks that are low in pollution.

Jute is a natural fiber plant cultivated along the plains of India since 800 BC, grown in small farms using traditional methods. It is related to the European linden tree and to hemp, without its narcotic effects.

Jute was first commercially used in Scotland in the early nineteenth century but was originally used through the ages for making ropes used in ships and vessels. Today jute is widely used in the world’s commodity markets and its golden color resilient fibers have found many applications.
